Biography of Professor Huan Liu

   Dr. Huan Liu is currently a professor in the School of Optical and Electronics Information at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, (HUST), China. She is also with Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics. She obtained B.S. degree in Electronic Science and Technology in 2001, M.S. degree in 2004, and Ph.D. degree in 2008 in Microelectronics and Solid-State Electronics from HUST. In 2004, she joined Huazhong University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Teacher. During 2009 to 2011, she joined University of Toronto, Canada, to conduct post-doctoral research in quantum dot devices. She was promoted to Associate Professor and Full Professor at HUST in 2011 and 2016, respectively. She was a Visiting Scholar in the Institute for Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at University of Tubingen, Germany.

   Professor Liu’s research focuses on chemical sensors which are based on metal oxide and sulfide quantum dot semiconductors. Her research group works on the development of artificial intelligent olfactory and gustatory system-on-chip. She holds 25 Chinese patents and has authored/co-authored more than 80 refereed journal papers and 50 conference papers including several invited talks. She received the first-class award of provincial science and technology twice, and Young Scientist Award at Asian Conference on Chemical Sensors in 2017. She is a recipient of National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars of China. She has served as the Vice Chair of Specialized Committee on Gas and Humidity Sensors in Chinese Institute of Electronics since 2019.
