Biography of Professor Yang Xu

   Prof. Yang Xu is an IEEE NTC distinguished lecturer and IEEE Senior Member of the Electron Devices Society.  He received his B.S. degree in ECE from Tsinghua University and Ph.D. degree in ECE from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA in 2009. He is a full professor since 2016 and is now appointed as Assistant Dean at the School of Micro-Nano Electronics, Zhejiang University, China. He is the Director of Future Electronics at HIC, Zhejiang University. He was also a Fellow of Churchill College at the University of Cambridge, UK, and a visiting professor at the University of California Los Angles (UCLA). 

  He has published more than 120 papers including Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Electronics, Nature Photonics, Chemical Reviews, Advanced Materials, and IEEE-IEDM.  He holds over 30 granted patents and gave more than 50 talks in IEDM, MRS, APS and ICPS conferences. He is an advisory panel member of Nanotechnology from IOP publishing. ​ He also served as the technical committee member of IEEE-EDTM, IEEE-EDAPS, and IEEE-IPFA conferences. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Nanotechnology​ Magazine. His current research interests include emerging low-dimensional smart sensors and photodetectors for internet-of-things and flexible electronics.
