Biography of Dr. Francesca De Rossi

Currently, a senior researcher in the group of Prof. F. Brunetti at CHOSE (Centre for Hybrid and Organic Solar Energy), University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy), Dr. De Rossi has been working in the last 5 years on energy harvesting and energy storage devices on flexible substrates (plastics and paper), specifically perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and supercapacitors, prioritizing sustainable functional materials and low cost manufacturing. She is currently focusing on flexible PSCs for space applications and flexible photo-capacitors, integrating printed supercapacitors and PSC mini-modules.

After obtaining her PhD degree in Telecommunications and Microelectronics Engineering from University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy) in 2014, she was appointed, from 2015 to 2018, as a Technology Transfer Fellow at SPECIFIC Innovation and Knowledge Centre, Swansea University (UK); she was a member of the PV team led by Prof. T.M. Watson, developing printable perovskite solar cells, and lead of the stability activity within his group.

She has co-authored so far >40 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and a book chapter on next generation photovoltaics (h-index = 21, >2000 citations) and participated in several international conferences. Her expertise includes low cost and effective materials and manufacturing processes for next generation photovoltaics, ranging from dye solar cells to perovskite solar cells, and supercapacitors. Her research interests embrace energy harvesting and energy storage devices and their applications.
